About Dr. Anders
Dr. David Anders is board certified in Internal Medicine and Geriatrics. He is a Fellow of the American Board of Internal Medicine and also interested in preventive medicine. He received his M.D. from the Medical College of Georgia in 1983. His previous academic positions and appointments include Chief Resident, Internal Medicine, Georgia Baptist Medical Center; Instructor in Medicine, Medical College of Georgia; Assistant Professor of Medicine, Medical College of Georgia; Educational Coordinator for Internal Medicine Residency Program of the Medical College of Georgia at University Hospital, Augusta, GA; Transitional Year Residency Program Director, Georgia Baptist Medical Center; and Division Director for Geriatrics in the Internal Medicine Residency Program, Internal Medicine, Georgia Baptist Medical Center. Dr. Anders is also board certified in Hospice and Palliative Medicine and has earned Hospice Medical Director Certification (HMDC). He is Medical Director for Amedisys Hospice in Newnan, GA.
He has published research and opinion articles in medical journals, books, and computer software programs, including the English and Japanese editions of the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA), the Southern Medical Journal, the Journal of the Medical Association of Georgia, and The Physician and Sports Medicine. Publications have been over a wide range of interests, including cardiac and exercise physiology, hypertension, the history of medicine, medical education, and physician perspectives on marriage, family, and mental health issues. Other books written for the general public (and available on Amazon.com) include “Octogenarians Say the Darndest Things”, “20/80—A Love Letter…Sort Of” and a humorous yet insightful series of three books starting with “You Might Be a Problem Drinker If…”.
Dr. Anders is in private practice at the Kedron Medical Offices in Peachtree City. His wife, Kenya, is also a doctor, practicing dermatology with Kaiser Permanente since 1990. They reside in Peachtree City with their five children, Rebekah, Lloyd, Luke, Rachel, and Lincoln. In his spare time, he - Wait! What spare time?!
